(Luke 19:2 – 10)
Sincere humility is a trait
that is scarce amongst mankind as the nature of man is studied. We get to see
much of wickedness, pride, lust of the eye, flesh, pride of life even amongst
the rich and the poor. If we come to perceive things realistically, we find out
that to be rich and humble is rare even I the body of Christ.
My case study today is Zacchaeus the rich publican
and a “sinner” (Luke 19:2). If you the book of Luke 19 with understanding you
find out that Zacchaeus has been hearing about Jesus Christ and the signs and
wonders He has been doing. As rich as he was regardless of his
limitation(height) he decided to climb a sycamore tree this was a very rich man
as the bible says , He could have paid servants to carry him up on a royal
carriage but he decided to go alone.
POINTS
1. Regardless
of your status in life, first you must take personal decision to seek Him.
(Luke 19:3-4). Zacchaeus was desperate to see Jesus Christ but because of his
height he ran ahead to climb a tree so that Jesus will see him when he passes
by.
2. Seek
Him with all your heart: Rich or Poor: Jesus Christ looked up and saw not Zacchaeus
the rich sinner publican, that’s, what the Pharisees saw but Jesus saw a man’s
humility, faith, heart of repentance. (19:5-6)
3. Jesus
Christ looks beyond your physical status, He sees the heart.
Why did Zacchaeus need
Jesus Christ? He was already rich and successful. The bible says in (Luke 19:8)
Zacchaeus looked for Jesus Christ for repentance. Why you may be asking?
a. Fear
of eternal damnation: The rich unbeliever heard the word of God and believed it
because His word is life it lives inside every man you just need to dig deep
inside your conscience the Spirit of God ministers to everyone when the word of
God is dished out no matter where you are or how much of the word you
assimilate, just as Zach did.
b. Repentance
from sin
c. Restitution
d. Salvation
through peace and inheriting eternal life.
The fear of rich
unbelievers is
· Restitution
· Condemnation
by the world
· Loss
of wealth
I tell you the truth
brethren, repentance without restitution isn’t complete (vs8-9) half obedience
or delayed obedience is disobedience.
Why Jesus Christ in your
Business
1. Righteousness:
ability to do things the right way and still make money.
2. Peace
of mind: no death threats, business folding up, financial stability, nothing
can touch your business and if they try you know you have a master who make
intercessions for you and will raise a standard against every devour-er.
3. Abundance
to help others without fear{kingdom
financiers}
4. Direct
access to the wisdom of God (Holy
spirit)
5. Protection
and provision.
6. Spiritual
gifts and fruits.
7. Above
all salvation of soul and assurance of eternity because the truth is when you die, none of your wealth physical
properties etc. will not follow you to the grave, it will fade away , but the
truth is that the bible says He who lays up treasures on earth for himself is a
fool, for heaven and earth will pass away but His words are forever, surrender
everything to Him for He has gone to prepare a place for you and I in heaven
where everlasting happiness, abundance, were these is no lack or want, were
there is no hunger (2cor 2:9) (Rev 20:10-15). Make a decision today to turn
everything over to God and let Him start dictating your life as your Lord.
Trust me, rich or poor or average, God loves everyone (John 3:16), you need
God.
Say
this prayers with me: Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner, I am tired
of my old ways, I surrender to you, I believe and accept that you died for me
on the cross of Calvary for me, wash me with your blood and make me fresh and
new, and from today I promise to serve you with all my heart, soul and body,
write my name in the book of life and put on me your garment of righteousness
from now and forever more, Amen.
